Wandering Rogue

Lucky walked along the stream, she had been following it for days. She was tired, and hungry but a while back she had scented many cats, and wanted to get out of this territory as fast as possible. She wondered where the stream led to, and thought of her mother who had died when she was a kit, leaving her father to care for her and her brother, Socks, who was killed by a dog. She stopped by the stream to drink before looking for food.

Lucky stopped drinking and looked up. "i am Lucky. i am looking for a place to live as my family is dead except for my father who abandoned me. I am six moons old." she mewed quietly. something told her that this cat was not happy - was he one of the cats she had scented earlier?

"Perhaps rougues shall learn boundaries first," came the deputy's harsh voice. "Follow me." he lead the cat toward the EagleClan camp. "I have a surprise for you.... it urgent."

A sleek, black cat slipped out of the reeds he was hiding behind on the river bank. This cat's name was Scar, and did he ever love to fight! Scar got his name from the scars on his body. When he spotted the two cats, he hissed and leapt across the river to the other side. The ferocious tom growled and jumped in front of the cats. "What are you two doing?" Amber eyes glowing with the light of battle, Scar was ready to fight both cats if they didn't back down.

Falconsong was surprised. he had never seen this cat before and didn't know what exactly what this cat was capable of. "Get out of our way!" he hissed. "this is eagleclan territory!"

"Not by the scent. The scent markers are faint, so it seems this is not your land."

"GET OUT OF MY WAY YOU SORRY EXCUSE FOR A CAT!" this was it!! The brown tom leapt at Scar and slashed his muzzle.

Scar hissed, blood dripping from where the Clan cat slashed him. The black cat stood firm though, for he would not be shaken by this cat's sudden force. "You speak as if you are the most powerful thing in the forest," Scar spat. "But you're not. You exist as a Clan cat in the eyes of StarClan. But to me you're just another cat defending your territory."

How did i do that? Scar asked himself. How did I challenge that Clan cat by speaking of StarClan, a Clan i hardly know about? Blood still coming from the small wound, Scar kept asking himself this over and over, unaware of what the cat would do next.

Falconsong took advantage of the cat's anwareness and sprang at him, bowling him over. "How DARE you speak of StarClan when you know nothing of it!" he yowled. "StarClan is unknown and useless to rougues! That is why they are not in Clans!" The brown tabby kept a firm grip on the cat as he pinned him down.

lucky hissed angrily for two reasons - she didn`t like cats getting hurt and this new cat thoughtt she was a clan cat! Besides she had no idea what these two cats where on about. so what if the borders where not strong. The scent she had picked up earlier had been weak, and had actually now she came to think of it only smelt of two cats - the one who was taking her somewhere - and another one. She could pick up the other cats scent now and it seemed near. she could tell it was a female.

Nightstar stepped out of the nearby forest and immediatly noticed Falconsong fighting with a rogue, with a smaller cat - also rogue - watching. "Whats going on here Falconsong? Why are there two rogues in our territory?" she said. She could tell the smaller cat was no trouble and as Falconsong had the other pinned down she didn`t have to battle anyone.

"There are intruders on our territory!" he hissed. "This cat who calls himself scar seems to be too weak."

Scar pushed the other cat off and turned to Nightstar, then Lucky. "You cats think you can outnumber me as easily as catching a mouse. You're wrong," he spat. "There is nothing you can do but sit in your camp all day while we rougues and loners are fighting to survive!"

Falconsong kept his body in a low, defensive position. "Every cat fights to survive," he meowed quietly. "Do not see this as an act of killing you.... because we will only kill you if we think you're a threat."

For some reason, Falconsong was more calm now that this cat was starting to reason with him. "However Scar, you shall not take my Clan's low number of cats as a weakness or permission to attack us at anytime." Still in the defensive stance, the tabby turned to Lucky. "I don't want to see your rougue face here again or you know what to expect." With that, Falconsong padded off to his camp.

How could i speak like that to a harmless rougue? he argued to himself. Well, it's a rougue and im only protecting our territory.

Scar watched after the cat. He cast a warning growl at Nightstar and walked off to the rougue lands.

lucky was confused. she had come here looking for a home, and when it seemed she had found one, the others cats just left. she looked at Nightstar who was padding back to her camp. " Wait!" Yowled lucky. Nightstar paused.
"What?" Nightstar hissed. lucky didn`t hesitate.
"Can I join you?"
"It is up to the whole clan, not just me to decide. i will speak to Falconsong though, but until i come back with my answer stay out of our territory!" Nightstar turned and ran back to camp.
